A pharmacy’s main goal is to promote good health and prevent disease. Pharmacy technicians must work closely with other pharmacy staff members and health care professionals. Online and physical pharmacies such as Canada Drugs must be able to carry out different functions such as filling prescription forms, providing information on different medicines, advising customers about drug interactions, etc. Other activities include ensuring that all medicines are available at the right time, properly stored, and ensuring that the quality of prescribed medicines is maintained.

Pharmacy technicians have to follow standard quality measures and professional guidelines while preparing drugs for commercialization and for patient use.
